Can Man See God?

Exodus claims Moses spoke to God face to face, while John claims no man has ever seen God.

Exodus 33:11

"Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend."

John 1:18

"No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known."

Analysis

The Old Testament anthropomorphizes God frequently, allowing him to be seen. The New Testament theology shifts to a more abstract, invisible deity, creating a direct scriptural conflict.
