Noah's Flood: The Animals

God gives contradictory instructions on how many animals to bring onto the ark.

Genesis 6:19

"And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you."

Genesis 7:2

"Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean."

Analysis

One text commands a single pair of everything. The other commands seven pairs of "clean" animals. This is a primary evidence for the Documentary Hypothesis (combining sources J and P).
