"Created man from a clinging substance (alaq / blood clot)."

"We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape."
Analysis
The Quran variously claims humans were made from a blood clot, water (25:54), dust (3:59), and clay. While some argue these are stages, the texts present them as the primary substance of creation.
